What's it all about ITIL.....

Time: 05:30 PM
Location:  Metro Hall
Room: 303
Speaker: Katherine Lord, Practice manager/ITIL Trainer - B Wyze Solutions
Help Desk/Service Desk analyst stream and New Help Desk/Service managers.

There have been many sessions about ITIL in the past year and we thought we would take a different approach and explain what is ITIL and how does it affect your job as a Service Desk/Helpdesk analyst or new Helpdesk/Service Desk manager. What will you gain from learning about this Best Practice? Do I have to know all 10 processes and the Service Desk function or can I focus on the Service Desk and Incident Management? This session will talk specifically about the Service Desk and Incident Management and only briefly touch on the other processes.

Who should attend? Service Desk and Help Desk analysts and new Service Desk and Help Desk managers who have not had any introduction into the best practice and who want to understand what ITIL is all about.

Please join us for a light supper and opportunity to network with your peers.

ATTENTION MEMBERS: One attendee will win a free 2.5 day ITIL Foundations Course provided by B Wyze Solutions, a $1495 value.

Cost Justifying ITIL Service Mgt Process Implementation: Fact or Fiction

Time: 07:30 AM
Location:  Metro Hall - Building opens at 7:30 a.m. - Morning Meeting
Room: 302
Speaker: Lisa von Massow - Pink Elephant

Fact: Cost justifying the ITIL framework in a complex business environment can be a serious challenge.

Fact: Understanding and continuously improving IT process maturity is a journey and requires significant commitment, both in terms of resources and financial considerations.

But what’s the pay off? That’s the question most CIOs want answered before they are willing to commit to changing IT processes, procedures and culture. Many global organizations that have planned their ITIL implementations well started with a sound business case, but when it comes to process, what are the tangible benefits that can be reaped?

This session will focus on what some major industry leaders have gained through their own process improvement efforts and how you can leverage this publicly available information to kick start and cost-justify your own ITIL implementation with cold, hard FACTS.

Lisa von Massow joined Pink Elephant in August 1999. As Director of Business Development for Central and Eastern Canada, Lisa plays a key role in Pink Elephant's growth as the world's leading provider of IT service management education and consulting. With over 10 years of IT training and professional services experience, Lisa also possesses the highest level of ITIL certification. She is ITIL Service Manager Certified. Throughout her tenure with Pink Elephant, Lisa has assisted many North American organizations in successfully building ITIL business cases to justify IT process improvement initiatives.

Please note this is a breakfast meeting and starts at 7:30 a.m.

Metro Hall opens at 7:30 a.m. the meeting will start at 7:45 a.m. and will finish at 9:00 a.m.
